Postdoctoral Research Associate
Dr. Alexander J. Edwards is a Post-Doctoral Research Associate with the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Maryland College Park in affiliation with the Laboratory for Physical Sciences. In 2024, with his dissertation entitled "Stochasticity and Spintronics for Bio-inspired Computing and Hardware Security", he received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas. He received the M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering-Computing Systems in 2024 from The University of Texas at Dallas and the B.S. degree in Computer Engineering in 2019 from Oklahoma Christian University, with a minor in Mathematics.
In 2023, he was awarded a Chateaubriand Fellowship for a four-month research exchange visit to Université Paris-Saclay. In 2022, he was awarded the Department of Energy (DOE) Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Award for a three-month research exchange visit to Sandia National Laboratories in 2022. He has also been awarded the Best Teaching Assistant Award from the Erik Jonsson School of Engineering & Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas.
